I hope that you've already managed to get past the title of this site and that we can start off on the right foot. I'm not trying to insult everyone or cast aspersions, but one of the women I was working with one day said this seemingly common and possibly insulting thing to me - you must think the everyone is stupid.
I try to be a logical thinker and I also try to be honest with myself, so I put some thought into this and decided that, if I use my own opinions as a guide, that yes, I must think that everyone is stupid. I can't imagine why my thoughts and beliefs are so outside of the mainstream. So much of what I think and feel seems so obvious to me that I can fathom no reason as to why it isn't the popular opinion.
It would seem to me that everyone who has thoughts and beliefs outside of the general consensus must believe the same thing, that everyone else is stupid.
"No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people. People can easily be persuaded to accept the most inferior ideas or useless products." This statement, attributed to H. L. Mencken, may have been directed at Americans specifically, but I believe it's just as valid to people everywhere. Thousands of people have spent incredible resources and devoted centuries worth of time to just studying what and how people think, and how best to influence it. We live with the results.
On the State of Mind page I'll post some of those "outside the mainstream" thoughts, but if you're expecting weird and unusual, don't bother. It's all stuff that you've heard before I'm sure.
On the News page I'll post stories that I've found that I consider to be of note, either because they involve stupidity or because of their potential to involve stupidity.
I don't have a staff of writers, nor do I have an abundance of free time, so don't expect a daily update any time soon...
